IELTS test in Australia – March 2010 (General Training)

IELTS test in Australia was shared by K (thanks a lot!) and here is what we know:

Reading test

Passage 1. University/hostel regulations such as curfew after 8:30 pm, whether swimming is free for guests, etc.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 2. Guided tour from the university to the city, boating, cycling, wearing protective clothing.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. Rott Island bridge building technique (involving bridge parts, community help, labor, aggregates and sand).

Writing test

Writing Task 1 (a letter)

Write a letter to a friend that you can’t collect from the airport, as you have promised, because of some reason. In your letter
– explain why you can’t come,
– guide them regarding other options to get to your home,
– describe the plans/visits you made to show them around when your friend arrives.

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

Money is an important factor in achieving happiness, however some people say that feeling contented has nothing to do with money. Do you agree or disagree? Give your personal opinion explaining advantages/disadvantages.

Speaking test

The topics I remember were:
– Fashion and clothing.
– Should we follow fashion?
– Does it make a person feel happy?
– How does it affect everyone?
