Our student MV took the IELTS test in the UK earlier this week and was asked the following questions in his speaking test:

Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you enjoy reading about history? Why or why not?
– What can people learn from studying history?
– Do you think history should be a compulsory subject in school?
– What kind of books or materials do you use to learn about history?
– What were your favorite pastime activities during childhood?
– Did you prefer indoor or outdoor activities as a child? Why?
– Have your hobbies changed since childhood? If so, how?
– Do you think children today have different hobbies compared to when you were young?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe your favorite TV show. You should say:
– what the show is
– who introduced it to you
– how you first discovered it
and explain why you enjoy watching this show.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– How important is advertising in the movie and TV industry?
– How has advertising in the entertainment industry changed over the years?
– Do you think advertisements influence people’s choices when selecting a movie or TV show?
– Do children and older people prefer the same types of TV shows? Why or why not?
– How has the rise of streaming platforms changed the way people watch TV?
– Should advertisements be regulated more strictly when targeting children?
