Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

Your friend is coming to stay with you on holidays, but you are not available on that date. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter

– apologise for not being able to be there
– give a reason why you are not available
– suggest another day for your friend’s visit

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some countries allow teenagers to have a part-time job. Some people think this is a good idea, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your full name?
– Where are you from?
– Can you describe your neighborhood?
– What do you think is special about your neighborhood?
– Do you think your neighborhood is a good place for young people to live? Why or why not?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

and explain how their ideas influenced others.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– In your opinion, are people who have interesting ideas respected in your country? Why or why not?
– Are people generally open to accepting new and interesting ideas in your culture?
– Do you think the perception of interesting ideas varies between different cultures?
– Do cultural values and traditions influence the acceptance of new ideas?
– What qualities do you think a person should have to come up with interesting ideas?
– Are these qualities different for individuals in various fields, such as science, art, or business?
– How can people with interesting ideas positively influence society?
