Cue Card

Describe an occasion when you were not allowed to use a mobile phone. Please say

– When and where was it?
– Why weren’t you able to use it?
– How did you feel about it?

– Do you think people use mobile phones more than other electronic devices?

When R took the IELTS test in Botswana, he was asked the following Writing and Speaking questions:

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given two pie charts describing university students of two age groups, below 25 and above 25. We had to analyze and summarize the information regarding reasons why students are choosing a certain university. There were about five or six reasons.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Nowadays more fathers remain at home taking care of children than in the past. Why is it happening? Is it a positive or negative development?
