How to Write an Essay to Discuss Both Views and Give Your Opinion

  1. Introduction: state that while some believe government investment in public art enhances cultural value, others think these funds would be better spent on education or healthcare. Indicate your position.
  2. Body Paragraph 1: Explain how art in public spaces can enhance cultural awareness and provide aesthetic value to communities, as well as boost tourism and, in turn, local economy.
  3. Body Paragraph 2: Present the argument for using public money to fund essential services such as healthcare, education, or infrastructure that make a difference to everyone, rather than art which benefits fewer people.
  4. Conclusion: Summarise both views and restate your opinion, making sure to mention whether you think that spending public money on art is a good way to invest it.
