IELTS Writing Test – General Training

Writing task 1 (a letter)

You recently traveled by train and accidentally left your luggage behind. Write a letter to the railway manager. In your letter:

– Describe your luggage
– Explain what was inside your luggage
– Suggest how the luggage can be returned to you

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Young people are spending more and more time and money nowadays following fashion trends. Is this a positive or a negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
