IELTS Speaking test in Nepal – February 2022

Our kind friend N.S. took the IELTS test in Nepal a few days ago and remembered the Speaking questions, below:

Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your full name?
– Can I see your ID?
– Where are you from?
– What is your hometown famous for?
– Did you learn about the history of your hometown in school?
– What did you learn?
– Were you interested in history when you were in school?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe a long walk you enjoyed. Please say

– where you walked
– who you walked with
– when you walked
– and explain why you enjoyed the walk.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– Do you like spending time outdoors?
– Are there any benefits to outdoor activities?
– What outdoor activities are popular in your country?
– What kind of outdoor activities were popular in the past?
– What type of outdoor activities will people like to do in the future?

IELTS test in India – February 2022 (Academic Module)

M.N. took her IELTS test in the last week of February. She said, “I took my IELTS exam in Bangalore, India. Your speaking evaluation helped me assess myself (I got my desired band score – 6.5), thank you. Below are the questions asked in the writing and speaking module that I can remember. Hope it helps!”

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a bar graph describing household items owned by people and their usage in the years 2001 and 2008 in a certain country. There were around 7-8 household appliances such as washing machines, dryers, TV sets, etc.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people display anti-social behaviour in the society. Why is this happening? What can be done to improve the situation?

Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your full name?
– Can I see your ID?
– Where are you from?
– Is your city a good place to grow up?
– Do you watch TV often?
– What kind of programs or TV shows do you like to watch?
– Did your parents let you watch a lot of TV when you were a child?
– Do you think kids these days watch more TV than in the past?
– Do you use earphones/headphones frequently? Why?
– When would you prefer not to use them?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Talk about a person you admired when you were in primary school. Please say

– who the person was
– how you met him/her
– why you admired him/her
– and explain how you feel about him/her now.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– Why do you think memories of school days are important?
– Why do some teachers leave their mark on students?
– What are the traits that make students remember them?
