Writing test

Writing task 1 (a letter)

Your friend recently moved to the same town you live in. Writing a letter to invite him/her to go to the gym together. In your letter

– Say why you go to this gym
– Explain why you think it is suitable for your friend
– Say what part of this gym you recommend

Writing Task 2 (an essay)

It is sometimes said that people who do physically hard jobs should be paid as much as those with higher-level qualifications. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples.

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your full name?

Our lovely friends S and Y recently took their IELTS exams in India and remembered the following questions:

Listening test

Part 1. A description of some vacation options.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Part 2. A description of an industrial process.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Part 3. Don’t remember.

Part 3. A lecture about literature.
Questions: multiple choice questions.

Reading test

Passage 1. Inventions that were ahead of their time.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.

Passage 2. Icebergs as a source of water.
Questions: filling in blanks, True/False/Not Given.

Passage 3. Saving rare languages.
Questions: multiple choice questions, matching headings to paragraphs, matching statements to people.

We were given a bar graph showing the percentage of household waste that was recycled in one city between 1992 and 2002.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

It is impossible to help all the people in the world who need help, so governments should help people in their own countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
