IELTS Speaking test in Italy – July 2010

IELTS in Italy, not surprisingly, was just like the exam in Bulgaria (our thanks go to R for sharing). Here is another version of the Speaking test:

Interview

– What is your full name?
– What can you tell me about your hometown?
– How long have you lived in your hometown?
– What places in your hometown do you like best?
– What can you tell me about your neighbors?
– Do you prefer to have young or old people as neighbors? Why?
– What season do you like?

Cue Card

Describe something that you have bought and never used, please say:
– Where did you buy it?
– What was the item?
– Why didn’t you use the item?

Discussion

– Do you usually buy things that you don’t use?
– What do you think about recycling?
– Do you think that people recycle more now than in the past?
– Is recycling important? Why?

IELTS Speaking test in the US – July 2010

IELTS exam in the US was exactly like the exam in Bulgaria, according to our friend S, who remembered the questions in speaking:

– Do you work or study?
– Where are you from?
– Describe your hometown.
– Do you like the area you live in?
– What do you like to do in your hometown?

Cue card

Talk about a special toy that you had as a child, please say
– what toy it was,
– who gave it to you,
– how you liked to play with it,
– why you liked that toy.

Discussion

– Do you think toys have changed since your childhood?
– How are the new toys different?
– How the new toys affect children and their behavior?
