IELTS exam in USA – April 2009 (Academic Module)

Here is what T from the US remembers about his IELTS this month:

Listening test

The listening was quite hard because almost all of the questions were multiple choice with a long description. I didn’t have time to read all the choices.

Reading test

The reading was really hard with long paragraphs, many multiple choice questions, many True/False/Not given questions, a lot of headings matching. The last section was about an avalanche..

Writing test

Writing task 1 (report)
We had an easy table regarding employment and unemployment in the UK and four more countries.

Writing Task 2 (essay)
We were asked to discuss whether a person should spend public money on a lifestyle that prevents illness or should that money be spent to help other people who are critically ill.
