Speaking test

Part 1 (Interview)

– What is your name?
– Do you live in a city or a small town?
– Can you tell me a bit about your hometown?
– What do you like the most about your hometown?
– Are there any popular attractions in your hometown?
– What kind of animals can be seen the area where you live?
– What kind of animals are common in urban areas?
– What types of animals can you find on farms in your region?
– Do you have a favorite animal?
– Why is it your favorite?

Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe a project that you have worked on recently. You should say

– what the project was about
– who you worked with on this project
– what you did in this project

and explain how it was to work with your teammates.

Part 3 (Discussion)

– In your opinion, what are the most important qualities for teamwork?
– Are team projects in school different from those in the workplace?
– What challenges might be involved in team projects?
– Is there a way to overcome these challenges?
– Do you think teamwork skills can be learned?
– How important do you think teamwork will be in the future workplace?

Writing task 1 (a letter)

Your employer is considering ways to adjust work hours and reduce them overall. You have been asked to provide suggestions on how to implement this change. Write a letter to your employer. In your letter:

– Explain why you think reducing work hours is a good idea.
– Suggest how the work hours could be reduced.
– Describe how these changes could benefit the company.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

In the past, parents used to give their children a great deal of freedom. Parents today, however, tend to be much more restrictive. Is this a positive or a negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
