IELTS test in the UK – February 2011 (Academic Module)

IELTS exam in England was shared by our kind friend H who remembered the following details:

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a diagram showing changes before and after the construction of tourist facilities.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Nowadays males and females are working out of town. They are spending more time and energy at work and less at home. Do advantages of this employment trend outweigh negative effects?

Speaking test

Interview

– Do you work or study?
– Do you like your job?
– Tell me something interesting about your job.
– Do you help with any household work?
– Should parents engage children in doing household work?

Cue Card

Describe a situation where you have helped somebody. Please say

– Whom did you help?
– Why did you decide to help this person?
– How did he/she feel about your help?
– How did you feel about it?

Discussion

– Do you know organizations that help people?
– Whom do they help?
– What are advantages or disadvantage of this help?
– Should government help people or not?
– What types of help should it provide?
